Bathurst Correctional Centre is a mixed-security facility for male offenders located 210 kilometres west of Sydney. The complex serves as a reception prison for western NSW. It can accommodate up to 780 inmates.
Our inspection will focus on:
- custodial conditions, including safety and security
- treatment, care, and well-being of inmates
- rehabilitation of inmates, including programs, education, employment, and preparation of release
- resources and systems, including the staffing and management of each correctional centre
The Inspector of Custodial Services may consider any other relevant matters in the course of this inspection.
