Junee CC is located in the Riverina region of NSW, approximately 435km southwest of Sydney. The centre has a capacity of 1,279 across separate maximum, medium and minimum security areas for men and a small transitional unit for women.
We have inspected Junee CC twice. The first inspection was in 2018 as part of a thematic inspection on access to health services in NSW correctional facilities. The second time we did a standalone inspection, and The Inspection of Junee Correctional Centre 2023 Report was tabled in NSW parliament and published in December 2024.
