Mary Wade CC is a minimum-security custodial centre that can accommodate up to 78 men housed across four accommodation units. CSNSW describes Mary Wade CC as a key operational centre for the management of minimum security male inmates participating in employment, community projects and external leave programs (including work release) within NSW. Men can be placed at Mary Wade CC if they are sentenced and they have a security classification of Category C2 or C3 (minimum security).
We inspected Mary Wade CC most recently in February 2025. We previously inspected Mary Wade CC in October 2019 when it accommodated women classified as maximum security on remand. The Inspection of Mary Wade Correctional Centre report was tabled in NSW Parliament in October 2020.
Mary Wade CC originally opened in 2005 and was known from 2005 to 2016 as Juniperina Youth Justice Centre. We inspected the centre once during this period and the Making connections: Providing family and community support to young people in custody report was tabled in NSW Parliament in June 2015.
