Ivanhoe (Warakirri) Correctional Centre (Ivanhoe CC) is a small minimum security facility for male offenders located in far western NSW. It is near the small town of Ivanhoe, some 210 km north of Hay. The centre was established on land formerly associated with servicing the railways, across from the (now unmanned) Ivanhoe railway station. Ahead of it's closure in 2020, Ivanhoe CC had a maximum inmate population of 45.
We inspected Ivanhoe Correctional Centre in April 2018 for the Five Minimum Security Correctional Centres in Non-Metropolitan NSW report that was tabled in NSW Parliament on 13 February 2020. We made 27 recommendations.
